The New Yorker Deli: Reviews & Ratings
Freshest bagels in Natomas! I subbed out the bun for the jalapeno cheddar bagel it was the best decision...SO GOOD! Expect a short wait as they make everything to order. It's located in a business center, but definitely worth the trip. Just note the deli is on the backside of the building with the fountain. Luckily, weren't the only ones trying to find it ;) Enjoy, we certainly did!
Found this hidden gem online put in a large order for my coworkers and I. Took a little time but came out phenomenal. This place puts a lot of care into the food they are making. These sandwiches are loaded up and all special requests were followed and all sandwiches were clearly labeled. Update: Went back today have been thinking about this place all week. Everyone agrees all five stars and sending more coworkers your way that over smelled the goodness.
We were traveling through Sacramento and found this deli. It's a little hard to locate but just go around the corner and yes, worth the drive through the parking lot. I had to try the king pastrami. I am not a fan of sauerkraut, probably should have asked for it on the side, just to try it. The sandwich was really good. Large, toasty and filled with delicious pastrami. It came with pickIe and macaroni salad. I ate half and finished it for dinner. We also got the Soho. Oh, the gravy. This was outstanding. What a big beautiful giant roll filled with beef, cheese and peppers. The gravy makes this one. Must stop by and try one of these unusual creations.
As a huge fan of Katz’s Deli in New York, every pastrami sandwich inevitably gets measured against theirs. The New Yorker Deli is the closest I’ve come outside of New York—so close in fact, that it’s now my #1 choice simply because I don’t need to book a flight to New York to enjoy an excellent pastrami. The bread was toasted perfectly—crispy on the outside, soft inside—and the pastrami itself was ultra tender and rich with flavor. Their Pastrami absolutely holds its own against the best. I also tried the chicken salad, which was equally impressive. The ingredients were fresh, the chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, and the balance of flavors worked really well together. Even though I ordered takeout, the service was fast, the restaurant was spotless, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The attention to detail, quality, and customer care really sets them apart. If you’re craving a true New York–style deli experience without the trip, The New Yorker Deli is a must-visit. FYI, the restaurant is in an office complex. Don’t let that fool you, if you do you miss a treat. Hint: The restaurant is on the right side of the building. If you come into the complex and turn left to park, know that you’ll have a nice walk.
Ok, location is a little wierd but if you fallow the signs it's easy to get to. Now that out of the way, why haven't I found this place sooner!?!? The sandwich is huge and delicious. The service was awsome, they have a sign saying they are not fast food, and everything is cooked to order which i appreciate. Give this place a try, you wont regret it!!!! I am definitely coming back again and again and again...... 11-2 update Been thinking about this place since my last time. And they did not disappoint.....wanted to try something new, but ordered the same thing. Still one of the best sandwiches I've EVER had. Service again was awsome. Go try it. It is sooooooo good!!! You will become addicted.....
Ate half of the pastrami king- as I had the second half in my hand I realized this deserved a picture and review. Absolutely loved this, got my money’s worth. Bread to meat ratio = perfection. Highly recommend.
I’ve been excited to try this spot and it didn’t disappoint! It is a bit difficult to find the first time only because it is inside of a commercial building, so just a heads up on that. I got the Left Coast Classic with a canned soda and spent about $20 after taxes. But the size of this sandwich is HUGE!! I put it next to the soda can in the photo so you can get an idea of just how big this thing is. They do not skimp on the meat either. The meat is freshly shaved and sandwiches are made to order. The ingredients are quality. It was a wonderful lunch. I will definitely be back!
Amazing place! It’s somewhat hidden in a massive industrial complex. They had arrows guiding the entire time. Anyway, the food is amazing and cheap! I got the turkey bacon and egg sandwich and a can of Sunkist soda. The price was under 10 for the entire deal. Worth the money and value. The entire place is decked out in New York gear. From hockey to football and everything in between. They aren’t open Friday-Sunday. Worth giving it a try if you are in the area and looking to get a solid breakfast/lunch. The place is very clean and the customer service is top notch!

The star here is the pastrami sandwich, a towering tribute to New York’s famed delicatessens. Fans like Cloyce Dickerson praise its perfect balance: bread toasted to a crisp exterior while staying soft inside, and pastrami that is tender, rich, and deeply flavorful. It’s a sandwich that doesn’t just compete—it wins, even against the legendary Katz’s Deli. The generous proportions ensure it’s a meal that satisfies both appetite and nostalgia.
But the menu doesn’t stop there. With house specialties like the Soho—a hearty creation filled with beef, cheese, peppers, and a savory gravy that elevates every bite—the deli explores bold, rich flavors that go beyond the ordinary. The jalapeño cheddar bagel substitute, recommended by frequent visitor Tabitha Smith, adds a spicy, cheesy twist that breathes new life into traditional sandwiches.
Every order at The New Yorker Deli is made to order, reflecting a commitment to freshness that’s palpable. This explains the short wait times customers mention but also guarantees a meal crafted with care. The inclusion of sides like creamy macaroni salad and crisp pickles completes the experience, offering a true deli feast that’s hearty, textured, and deeply satisfying.
Service here matches the quality of the food. From clearly labeled sandwiches to accommodating special requests, the team is attentive and welcoming. Customers like Amber B and Anna Na emphasize not only the outstanding flavor but also the thoughtful, friendly atmosphere.
In sum, The New Yorker Deli stands out as a culinary gem in Sacramento. It isn’t just a place to grab a meal; it’s a destination for anyone craving the quintessential New York deli experience without boarding a plane. The freshness, the boldness of flavors, and the genuine care in preparation make this deli a must-visit spot for locals and visitors alike.
